![]() ![]() ![]() You do have time but it would be rushed and probably best if you took the first shuttle from Antigua on Tuesday morning: Or sleep next to the airport as we do sometimes and sleep in a bit. Your chances would be better with a private driver who would head directly to the airport and might have more flexibility with detours if there are problems on the road.Ĭan you reverse the order and head to Lake Atitlán first? Sleeping in Antigua the last night would work although traffic can be horrid so figure an hour and a half for the trip. The regular share shuttles detour to Antigua and can take more than 5 hours between Panajachel and Guatemala City so the 5 am shuttle MIGHT work or it might not. There is always risk sleeping that far from the airport ahead of an international flight I have been significantly delayed on that road by crashes, construction, traffic, strikes, and bike races. With carryon only and printed boarding passes in hand we've breezed through a few times, but never count on it. The current recommendation is to arrive 3 hours ahead of your international flight, more if you have a bag to check and/or a laptop. ![]()
